On January 23, 2025, Susann Eve Calvert, age 54, died at the Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. Her family grieves her loss, so early in life. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 3pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2pm until the service time. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.
Susann was a bright blue-eyed baby born at Midwest City Memorial Hospital, Midwest City, Oklahoma, on September 20, 1970, weighing 4lbs and 12 oz. Learning early as a child, Susann realized she could get anything in life if you mix it with a little charm, smile, and even a tear if needed to persuade even the steadfast adult. She adored and cherished her mom, Evelyn Caldwell. If she had a bad day, she knew she could call her and she could make rainy days sunny again. They shared their love of Jesus and God and Susann made that evident in her life. They attended Christ Gospel Church in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
Susann, like her father Henry Calvert, was an OU fan. At a young age, Susann trained and became an excellent hair stylist, obtaining her license as a barber and continuing her talents as a cosmetologist. Her communication skills came in handy as local women and friends would be glamoured in new hair styles while learning of recent stories in town and fun tips of the day.
Susann loved life. With a love of cooking, she became a gourmet cook for friends and family. She enjoyed all types of people and was very friendly. She loved her family and photos of loved ones decorated her desk. While having friends getting together it wasn't long before she was laughing because she loved good company. Her other loves in her life were the dogs in her life. Her dog, Casanova, gave her so much love during her final days and she wanted everyone to know it. She enjoyed fixing his hair, placing bows in it, and styling it. She was creative with dressing him and taking photos of him with her phone. Another talent was her love of numbers. She was good at math, and enjoyed putting puzzles together, usually beautiful scenes of nature and animals. She would glue them together solidly and give them away or sell them.
Susann was an independent thinker and could be hardheaded. She found life to be like a puzzle sometimes and like many of us was challenged with where all the pieces fit. She gently figured out her purpose through the love of her family, close friends, and her dog, Casanova.
Susann was seen dancing with her grandmother, Violet Bidwell, three times to let us know she was no longer in her mortal body.
Susann is survived by her mom, Evelyn Caldwell (Bill Caldwell); her brother, Rev. Rocky Glen Calvert (Pam Calvert); her sisters, Mary Ann Johnson-Cornell (Harrison R. Cornell) and Sandy Susie Mullins; a half-brother, Mark McFillen; her uncle, Eddie Bidwell (Violet Bidwell); nephews and nieces, Jeremy Wayne Johnson (Shanna Johnson), Benjamin Lee Johnson, Jessica Mullins-Lane, Andrew Calvert, Jacob Calvert (Deana Calvert), Victoria Calvert (Austin Gross), Luke McFillen, and Trinity McFillen; great nieces and nephews, Allison Calvert, Samuel Calvert, Colton Johnson, Madison Johnson, Michael Johnson, June McElroy, Katelyn Galindo, and Johnny Alexander Lane; great-great nephews, Jason Alexander McElroy and Jorge Galindo; first cousins, Angel Bidwell Wheeler and Sheri Bidwell Ruth (Tony Ruth); second cousins, Jasmine Barber, Kayla Garrido, Benjamin Chambers, Eljah Wheeler, Hannah Wheeler, Joseph Ruth and Samuel Ruth.
