Suzan Denise Shofner, age 61, left this world and went home to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, June 7th. She was born in Atmore, Alabama to David and Myra Shofner.
Suzan's love for Jesus was evident by everyone who came into contact with her. Suzan loved to love on people. Her love for others, generosity, and loyalty all flowed from her desire for others to know and follow Jesus.
Suzan grew up in Pensacola, Florida and was a proud graduate of Escambia High School. She was an adored mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was proud of her long-term career with the VA Hospital and the contributions she was able to make in serving our military members.
Family was everything to Suzan. Her greatest pride are her two sons, Erik Evans and David Evans; her greatest joy are her twin grandsons, Rhett and Pearce Evans. Suzan's family includes her father, David (Jewell) Shofner, sisters Mary Jane (Jerry) Smith and Rebekah (Steve) Francis; and brother, Jamie Shofner. She loved and adored her nieces, nephews, their spouses and children, her Aunt Carol Ann George, cousins Donna Jane Baker and Christopher Baggett. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 - "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."
Please join us celebrating her life Friday, June 13, 2025, 4:00 p.m. visitation and 5:00 p.m. service at Trahan Funeral Home, 60 Industrial Boulevard, Pensacola, Florida 32503.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mission Evangelism, 1579 Hunters Creek Dr, Cantonment, FL 32533 to support the ministry in Macedonia.
