Obituary of Suzanne E Hill
Suzanne E. Hill, age 91, an Iowa City resident since 1999 died Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Pioneer Village Health Care Center in Lone Tree.
Memorial services will be held at 2pm Thursday, March 27, 2025, at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Iowa City, followed by a time of fellowship and refreshments. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 6 pm at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Suzanne's memory to Pioneer Village of Lone Tree in appreciation of their compassionate and very competent care of Suzanne.
Suzanne Hill was born on July 4, 1933, in New Castle, Pennsylvania. Her parents were John and Thelma Essinger who have preceded her in death. Suzanne was the oldest of eight children.
Suzanne was united in marriage to Robert Hill on June 4, 1960. Her family includes three children; Robert (Julie), Linda (Bradley), and Laura; three grandchildren, Sarah (Brice), Emily (Vaughn), and Seth; and one great granddaughter, Ava Suzanne.
Family was very important to Suzanne as she nurtured and shared her love with a husband of 64 years, three children, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She acquired over her 91 years, a college education to teach in public schools and churches. A kitchen to develop her cooking skills. An intuitiveness to develop works of art. A sewing machine to create clothing and quilts. And a Chrisian Faith to give guidance to herself and others.
