Suzanne Carol Rezmer, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, in Bay City, Michigan. Born on February 8, 1940, in Hillman, Michigan, Suzanne's journey through life was marked by an unwavering dedication to her family, a passion for life's simple pleasures, and a legacy of kindness that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Suzanne was the beloved wife of Donald Rezmer, whom she married on May 22, 2010, at St. Anne's Church in Linwood, Michigan. Suzanne was a loving mother to Cheryl Schumann, Colleen (Bernie) Grappin, and Marshall (Holly) Coggins. Her love extended to her stepchildren, Angie (Gerald Johnson) Rezmer, Norman (Cindy) Rezmer, and Melany Rezmer. Suzanne took pride in being a grandmother to Sarah (Mike) Zajac, Samantha (Dwayne) Walther, Bernard (Niki) Grappin III, Nicole (Corey) Enciso, Dallas Grappin, Dakota (Shantaé) Grappin, Luke, Trey, and Von Coggins, and Lakota Rezmer, great-grandchildren, Mason, Arabella, Raven, Ezlyn, and Maverick Zajac, Hunter and Harper Walther, Kobe Adams, Bernard IV, Sky Grappin, and Danika Belanger, Kayla, Nathan, Landen, Ashton, and Peyton Enciso, Logan Grappin, Jaédynn, Jaéleigh and Dakota Grappin Jr. and great-great grandchildren, Lucy (Grappin) Valley and Wednesday Adams.
Suzanne is survived by her siblings, Jean Haynes, Nina Schott, Earline Robinson, Linda Lasure, and Richard Hawley. Her extended family of sisters and brothers-in-law, including Mary Waibel, Robert and Kay Coggins, Ted and Alice Rezmer, Leonard and Betty Rezmer, Robert and Shirley Kay Rezmer, Shirley Dubiel, and Romaine Rezmer. Suzanne was preceded in death by her first husband, Marshall Coggins, whom she married on March 4, 1960 in Bay City, MI, her parents, Earl and Ruth (Goodrich) Hawley, her son-in-law, Randall Schumann, great granddaughter, Jenaéyah (Jenni) Grappin, brother, Lloyd Hawley, sisters, Jannine Paton, and Hazel Galloway, sisters-in-law, Lois Hawley, and Barb Coggins, brothers-in-law, Robert Lentini, Charles Haynes, Larry Schott, Robert Robinson, Woodrow Coggins, Al Waibel, Bruce Coggins and Frank Rezmer.
Suzanne's professional life was spent at Lloyds Cabinets, where her colleagues valued her reliability and the warmth she brought to the workplace. Outside of work, Suzanne's interests were a reflection of her love for family and life's simple joys. She relished in the moments spent walking, cleaning, and especially watching the sporting events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Suzanne's presence at these events was a source of encouragement and pride for her family.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Prince of Peace, St. Anne's Campus, Linwood, MI with Rev. Fr. Prentice Tipton presiding. The family will greet loved ones and friends on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 3:00pm – 8:00pm at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Pinconning MI, and on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Prince of Peace, St. Anne's Campus, Linwood, MI from 10:00am until the time of service. A private burial is scheduled.
