Sylbia Jean Butcher

SYLBIA JEAN BUTCHER, age 85, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Court House Manor.

She was born on May 11, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Thelma Alice (Long) Robinett. Sylbia graduated from Washington High School and Springfield Community Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse at the former Fayette County Memorial Hospital. Sylbia attended the Greenfield Church of Christ and the South Side Church of Christ until her health would no longer allow. She enjoyed reading, listening to music, going to flea markets and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Sylbia was preceded in death by her first husband, James E. Butcher, whom she married on July 13, 1962; her second husband, Donald Yahn; and brothers, Kenneth Robinett, and Edwin Robinett.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Julie Butcher; grandchildren, Christy Butcher, and Remington Butcher; and special caretaker, Debbie Chrisman. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, along with a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
