Sylvia Langdon Baker, born on September 25, 1954, in Clay County, Kentucky, was the beloved daughter of the late Levi Langdon and Verta Bowling Langdon. She was united in marriage to Tommy D. Baker of London, Kentucky. Sylvia is survived by her two children, Travis Langdon Baker and Danielle Baker Armstrong and husband Matthew; a sister, Ruby Langdon Hensley, all residing in London, and her cherished granddaughter, Macy Elle Armstrong plus a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends mourn her passing.
Sylvia was a retired school teacher for the Laurel County Board of Education and a member of the First Baptist Church in London. Known for her heart of gold, Sylvia loved children and was always eager to help others. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Sylvia Langdon Baker departed this life on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the age of 70 years and 27 days.
The funeral service for Sylvia will be conducted at 1 pm on Friday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in the Langdon Cemetery in Oneida, Kentucky.
The family will receive friends beginning at 11 am on Friday until the funeral hour of 1 pm at Bowling Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will include Danny Bishop, Dylan Bishop, Tip Smith, Johnathan Howard, Brian Howard, and Tyler Kirby.
