BYRON-
Tammy Bozeman Grimes, 60, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 23, 2025, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. At Tammy's request, in lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Jay's HOPE, Childhood Cancer Foundation, 1157 B Forsyth Street, Macon, GA 31201. When Tammy was undergoing cancer treatments, she met so many children receiving chemotherapy and their families, she wanted to help them.
Tammy was the daughter of the late Paul Douglas Bozeman Sr. and the late Elizabeth Marie Marshall. She was born in Montezuma on April 24, 1965. She was very thankful for her grandparents, Johnny and Lillian Marshall, who helped to raise her. Tammy was married to Jimmy Grimes for many years with whom she had five children with and they were her world. A hard worker all her life, Tammy spent the first part of her career working in factories. While living in South Carolina, she was a Spinner at Startex Mills, a cotton mill. When she moved back to Middle Georgia, she accepted a position with Boeing as a Sheet Metal Mechanic. The factory built new C-17 planes, and she worked there for seventeen years. When Boeing closed, Tammy learned to make tires at Khumo, adding the materials to make the tires, until she was hired to work on C-5s at Robins Air Force Base. She was a Sheet Metal Mechanic with Civil Service there and helped to repair the planes. When cancer invaded her life, Tammy's strength shone bright as she suffered through the years, taking many medications, having surgeries, and undergoing treatments, continuing to work until she physically could not anymore. It was then that she retired and stayed home, building a relationship with Christ, preparing for her future in Heaven. Tammy was a Baptist.
Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, and a baby sister, Paula Diane Bozeman.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Tammy are her children, Danny Grimes (Michele), Amanda Calhoun (Will), Matt Grimes, Brad Grimes (Rose), and Rusty Grimes (Mandy); nine grandchildren; her siblings, Julie Cawthon (Jim), Angel Logan (Kenny), Greg Little (Kandy), Wendy Darlene Cox (James), Paul Bozeman Jr. (Amie), and Todd Bozeman (Audrey); many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and several aunts and uncles.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
