Tasos (Tom) Karantounis entered Eternal Life to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 22, 2025. He was born in Pikerni Greece on December 28, 1954 (even though mixed-up paperwork indicated July) to Stefanos and Irene Karantounis. The youngest of two sons, and beloved brother to George. In 1966, Tasos, his parents and brother came to the United States to be with family in Denver Colorado. It was a difficult transition for a very young 12-year-old, who loved his native Greece and missed the family, friends and community he left behind in Tripoli. Within time he made friends, learned the language and embraced his new life. Tasos attended the University of Colorado where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. While at CU he met several other Greek immigrants and formed lifelong friendships. More than anything Tasos loved his family and all the friends he genuinely called family. Tasos true interest and passion was always in serving others. He did this for over 40 years in the various restaurants he owned and operated. No one was ever an employee or a customer; they were friends to whom he willingly provided support and opportunity. Tasos extended help to anyone he met; he did it with love and laughter, never expecting anything in return. His generous spirit will be missed by so many. Tasos is survived by his wife, the love of his life Elaine, together 42 years. He is survived by his brother George (Niki) numerous nieces, nephews and God children. He is also survived by his sister-in-laws, Alice Dimotsantos and Alexandra Waddell, brother-in-law John (Laura) Zervas. May His Memory Be Eternal In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made in loving memory of Tasos to the Assumption of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
