Tayron Jordan Washington, lovingly known as Tay, Ronnie, or Ron Ron, was born on September 27, 1997, in Orlando, Florida, to Nakia "Nicki" Scott and Tyron Washington. From the very beginning, Tayron radiated love, light, and loyalty. He proudly held the title of Nicki's favorite middle son. To his family and friends, Tayron was a steady source of strength, a constant joy, and a presence they could always count on.
A distinguished graduate of Bishop Hartley High School, Class of 2015, Tayron made his mark as a standout athlete and a natural leader. As a defensive lineman and tight end, he earned a place in the Bishop Hartley Hall of Fame and was named First-Team All-Ohio, a testament to his hard work, heart, and unshakable drive. He continued his academic and athletic career at Georgetown College, and also played basketball at Youngstown State University, continuing to carry himself with the same determination, humility, and heart.
But Tayron's most powerful legacy wasn't defined by stats or accolades-it was written in how he loved. Tayron had a rare and beautiful gift: he made people feel seen, safe, and valued. Whether you knew him for five minutes or a lifetime, you felt his warmth and presence. He wasn't just family-he was family to everyone.
On May 22, 2019, Tayron married his best friend and soulmate, Nesa Washington. Together, they built a life full of laughter, love, resilience, and purpose. Their sons, Tayron Jr. ("RJ") and Princeton Alonzo ("Prince"), were the center of his world. Being their father and Nesa's husband was his greatest joy and deepest calling-he poured his love, time, and wisdom into them every single day.
Tayron came from a big, blended, and beautiful family that meant everything to him. He is survived by his beloved wife Nesa, his cherished sons RJ and Prince, and his devoted parents Nakia (Garey) Scott and Tyron Washington. He will always be cherished by his siblings: Tyler King, Tyron Washington, Abby Crockett, Jahkai Hightower, Tiana Washington, Taleigha Washington, Eli Washington, and LeeLeah Washington; as well as his step-siblings Jamey Potts and Drew (Alecia) Scott.
Tayron was deeply rooted in love and legacy, he will be remembered by his grandparents, Anita King-McMillion, Anthony and Wonderlyn Horsley; his aunts, Meloni (Ernest) Mingo, Shanika (Chris) Brown, Leola Anderson; his uncles, Manny King, Alonzo King III (Jamie), Roy Anderson, and Marvol Washington; his sister-in-law, Madison Haynie and brother-in-law, Khyle Haynie. He is also remembered with great love by many cousins, extended family members, and friends, including two of his closest and most loyal brothers in spirit, Aaron Hannah and Ernesto Pantoja IV.
Tayron was a dreamer and a doer. As a proud employee of Vivent and an entrepreneur, he worked tirelessly to build a better future-not just for himself, but for everyone he loved. His passion was undeniable, and his heart was even bigger. Even as he faced his own health challenges, Tayron transformed his pain into purpose. He became a strong advocate for kidney health awareness, dreaming of starting a nonprofit to uplift others fighting similar battles. That was who Tayron was-even in his hardest moments, he thought of others first.
His presence was magnetic. His love was fierce. His impact was-and will always be-immeasurable.
Tayron's story does not end here. Though Tayron left this world far too soon, his legacy is eternal. His legacy lives on in his sons' laughter, in Nesa's strength, in the love of his parents and siblings, and in every life he touched. He gave us a blueprint for what it means to love hard, stand tall, and show up with purpose.
Rest easy, King. You are forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten, and as Tayron would say, "Control what you can control."
"Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23
