Teddy Allen James passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025 at the age of 88. He was born in Vernon, Texas on July 1, 1937 to Aline and Willie Mae James. Ted was the first born and big brother to Jimmy and Linda. He graduated from Panhandle High School, where he was the quarterback, in 1953.
He met the love of his life, Connie Kay Souder in Amarillo Texas. They were married October 11, 1957 and would have celebrated their 68th Anniversary. They raised two children, Gary Dean and Tracy Lynn.
In his younger years, Ted worked for Pioneer Gas Company, and then, Diamond Shamrock Company in data processing. Together with their wives, Neeley-James Office Supply serviced not only Roswell, but also the surrounding areas including Ruidoso, Hondo, Dexter, Hagerman, Artesia, Riverside, and Loco Hills for almost 50 years.
Ted loved spending time with his family fishing and spent many years at Conchas Lake. He and Connie cherished their many travels with friends playing golf and cruising, as well as, attending many fun filled holidays and social events.
Ted liked to tell jokes, and family and friends can tell you, he had a good sense of humor and was known to "stretch the truth" to get a few laughs. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
