Teresa Diane Garr, age 65, of Centerville, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Elevation Care Center in Waukegan, Illinois.
Teresa was born on December 9, 1959 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Cortland and Violet (Thomas) Garr. She graduated from Centerville High School and continued her education at Indian Hills Community College obtaining her CNA.
Teresa worked at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville as a CNA for a very long time. In her free time, she enjoyed coloring, scratching lottery tickets, watching soap operas and the Kansas City Chiefs play ball. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Piper.
Left to honor Teresa's memory are her mother, Violet Garr; her children, Chanda Marberry (Brian Meeker), Bobby (Murphy) Hayes, and Amanda Meeker; her grandchildren, Rae Marberry, Coleton Marberry, Cody Meeker, Phoebe Hayes, Brodee Meeker, Vayda Hayes, Wyatt Cole, Tucker Ballanger, Isiah Hanson, Jaiden Hayes, Jayce Hayes and Khash Hayes; her siblings, Cindy Garr, Kelly (Teri) Garr, Terry Garr, Tammy (Patrick) Williamson, Timmy Garr, and Stacey (Mark) Buckallew; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Teresa was preceded in death by her father, Cortland Garr; her sister, Becky Williams; and her former husband, Dennis Hayes.
Graveside services for Teresa will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, June 20, 2025 at Haines Cemetery, north of Centerville. Memorials have been established to Violett Garr, to be used towards final expenses, and may be mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, ATTN: Garr Family, 501 North 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
