Teresa Lea Merritt

Teresa Lea Merritt, 63, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, after a 6 year battle with ALS. Up until the end Teresa maintained her fun, kind, and incredibly big-hearted ways. She expressed appreciation and showed love to all her family and friends.
Teresa enjoyed years of spending every single day with her family, a love and talent for gardening and landscaping, she took pleasure in singing, music, and swimming with her grandsons, and she was an avid animal lover.
Ms. Merritt was preceded in death by her "daddy," Jimmy Howeth, and her son Cody L. Merritt of Redwater, TX.
Left to cherish, Ms. Merritt is her mother, Cherry Howeth of Texarkana, TX; her two brothers Jimmy and Lori Howeth of Texarkana, TX; Rodney and Gina Howeth of Nash, TX; her daughter and loving son-in-law, Amber and Dustin Hayes of Redwater, TX; her grandchildren, Kayden, Conner, Kason, Dayton, Briana, Lainy; nieces and nephews Deneshia, Jesse and Nina, Brannon, Jennfier and Cari; special friends, Abigail and Jase House; former husband, Anthony Merritt; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 11, 2024, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Chapelwood Funeral Home in Nash, TX.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
