Terry "Joe" Landis, 76, of Idaville passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born on September 9, 1947 at the family home in Logansport to the late Charles "Cotton" and Dorothy (Allen) Landis. On June 5, 1967 he married the former Nancy Harris in Glasgow, KY. She preceded him in death on May 28, 2022.
He was a 1966 graduate of Pioneer High School in Royal Center. He retired in 2014 after 48 years of service from Essroc Cement in Logansport, now Lehigh Hanson. He farmed for Randy Coble and Eric O'Farrell. He was a member of the safe club and the Prairie Timbers Coon Hunters Club. He served on the Idaville Volunteer Fire Department and proud recipient of the volunteer of the year award. He volunteered at the Idaville fish fry and also the tractor pull. He enjoyed helping the Oliver family with there many endeavors.
He cherished his family especially his grandchildren. He supported his grandchildren, Tyler and Cameron with 4H shooting sports, Jordyn's summer softball, and Caleb through his high school baseball career.
He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting.
Surviving are his children, Katrina (Jody) Orr of Buffalo and Keary Landis of Idaville; grandchildren, Tyler and Caleb Orr and Cameron and Jordyn Landis; siblings, Kay (Paul "Mert") Bridge of Idaville, Bobbie (Bill) Harrison of Logansport; and sister-in-law, Edna Marie Landis of Logansport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles "Cotton" and Dorothy (Allen) Landis; siblings, Donna Logan, Doris Cosgray, Ron Landis, Sue Shaffer, and infant sister, Dixie Landis.
Visitation will be from 3pm until 7pm on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Funeral services celebrating Joe's life will follow at 7pm at the funeral home with Jeremy Glasford officiating.
Memorials may be given to the Idaville Fire Department or made payable to the funeral home to help the family offset expenses.
