Publish in a newspaper

Terry Lamar Reeves, 86, of Monroe, LA, departed this life peacefully with family and friends by his side October 4, 2025. Born December 23, 1938, Terry's life was filled with devotion to his wife, Linda, and sons Donald and Daran.

Terry's love of sports exemplified his character of loyalty, kindness and generosity. He was a high school standout starting as tailback on Neville's first State Football Championship in 1955. Terry also was the pitcher in two State Baseball Championships. His college years at Northeast Louisiana University, with dual scholarships in both football and baseball, formed his passion for competitive sports. He maintained lifelong friendships through his easy-going nature on the golf courses of Bayou Desiard Country Club and Squire Creek. He was proud, but not boastful, of his 12 hole-in-ones.

Terry had an exemplary career at International Paper for over 30 years and upon retirement, continued to build relationships by working at The Toggery in Monroe. Through the years he was a member of First Baptist Church, Monroe, later attending Parkview Baptist Church.

His legacy to his family and friends was his commitment to all with a spirit of loyalty and truth. Terry is remembered by playing the "great game of life" with integrity and honesty.

Terry leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years, Linda Hines Reeves, son Donald Reeves (Amanda) of Dallas, Texas; Sister-in-Law, Susie Broach (Thomas) of Virginia; grandchildren, Analeise Thomas (John), John Clay Reeves (Sarah), Thomas Reeves (Audrey), Taylor Reeves (Logan) Matthew Reeves (Jessica); great-grandchildren, Adair, Jack, Oliver, Woods, Jackson, CoCo, Bennett, Lincoln, Wesley Kate, Evan Grace; nieces and nephews, Larry Jr. Reeves, Jana Wiggins, Tina Buettner, Robyn Broach; special cousins, Merida Vogt and Joey Shaver; remarkable friends Ricky Herlevic, Joey McGinn and Adam Dearman.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, and mother, Francis and J.D. Reeves of Monroe; father and mother in-law, Sally and Bill Hines of Monroe; brother, Larry Reeves and wife Pat and son Daran Hines Reeves.

Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Herlevic, Joey McGinn, Charlie McDonald, Ben Price, Pat Williams, John Rea, Tom Baker, Charlie Beene, Dennis Lasuzzo, Ronnie Lasuzzo, Dix Johnston, Bob Lane and Ron Shemwell.

Pallbearers are John Clay Reeves, Thomas Reeves, Taylor Reeves, Matthew Reeves, John Thomas, Larry Reeves, Jr. and Bob French.

The family wishes to thank all the caregivers for their heartfelt love towards Terry.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time.
