106 year old, Thelma Ruth Davis Frame, of Westfield, formerly of Hebron, passed away on September 16, 2025, at home with her family around her.

Thelma was born in Hebron, Indiana on May 7, 1919, the first child of Charles Frederick (Fred) and Grace Elnora Wahl Davis. Two brothers: Clarence Wahl and Herbert Eugene, now both deceased, were added to the family.

Thelma graduated from Hebron High School in 1937 and then entered Indiana University, studying to be an elementary school teacher. Upon graduating, Thelma taught a number of years in Merrillville, Columbus, and Richmond, Indiana. She retired after 40 years of teaching elementary students. While in Richmond, she studied painting and was able to fulfill a life-long desire to be an artist. After retirement, she became a member of, and exhibited in shows at the Richmond Art Museum (RAM), the Artisans, Brown Co. Art Gallery in Nashville, Indiana, Indiana Heritage Arts, Hoosier Salon, Indiana Plein Air Painters, Greenville Art Guild, and others. In 2014, the Richmond Art Museum held a retrospective show of her work. Thelma also restarted violin lessons after retirement, and joined the Richmond Strings Unlimited and later the Muncie Chamber Players, both non-professional groups. She was a member of the Christian Church and wherever she lived, she was actively involved in the work of the church, especially teaching children and with the church missions.

Thelma is survived by her two nieces: Cathy Schiesser and Nancy Davis, 2 great nephews: Jason (Lindsay) and Ryan (Lauren), 3 great-great nieces, and 1 great-great nephew.

Thelma was buried at the Hebron Cemetery on Friday, September 19, 2025.

Friends are invited to join the family at a Celebration of Thelma’s life at 2:00 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Zionsville Meadows, 675 S. Ford Rd., Zionsville, IN 46077.
