Theodore Roy Smith

A legend has left us.

Born to and preceded in death by Owen M and Eileen M Smith, Theodore Roy Smith entered this world to make a mark. He realized the strength of family as a brother to a large nuclear clan with siblings Cindi, Rod, Gayle, and Melany. A graduate of Jackson High School class of 1966, Ted supported his country and made lifelong friends with a tour in the U.S. Navy.

Ted's zest for life and loyalty to family were evident. He was an avid pilot, a master of the racquetball court, a skilled diver, a friend, brother, husband and partner. He carried a quick wit and sharp humor that never disappointed. Retiring from a career as business owner of Master Pest Control, Canton, OH, his dream was realized, waking up every day to the balmy weather of North Port, FL, where he lived life with his partner, Janice Wright. Ted tinkered with projects, combed the beach for "character rocks", swam in his pool and survived Hurricane Ian. Of that he was proud!

If you asked Ted what mattered most, it would be the family he created with the mother of his children, Lenor M Smith. He was fiercely in love with his role as a father to Stacey M Smith Geenen (Dan Geenen) and Brian Smith (Cassie Weber Smith). To see his face was to know there was no greater love than his grandchildren, Luke Owen Smith and Juliette Marie Geenen. Ted also adopted the role of father to Laurie Smith Jackson (Kerry Jackson) very early in her life and gained as a reward his grandchildren, Corey K Smith, Derrick and Nathan Jackson.

What matters most is the imprint you leave on the world. Theodore "Theo" Roy Smith left a profound impression that will live on in all who knew him. His song is over, but his melody lingers on.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Reed Funeral Home NORTH CANTON Chapel (801 Pittsburg Ave. NW). The family will receive guests one hour prior to services on Friday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at North Canton Cemetery after services.
