Theresa A. Decker

Theresa A. Decker, a woman of strength and kindness, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, at the age of 91. She was loved by so many people. Born on October 3, 1934, in Yonkers, NY, to the late John and Helen Drain. Theresa's life was one of devotion, to her family and friends.
Theresa was predeceased by several brothers and sisters, Mary (Alexander) West, William (Eileen) Drain, Helen Drain, James (Margaret) Drain, Dorothy Drain, Gertrude (Michael) Seman, John (Patricia) Drain. She is survived by her sister Lorraine (James) O'Brien, and many nieces and nephews, who all held a special place in her heart. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she enjoyed all the special moments with them.
Theresa spent 35 years working in the insurance industry. She took pride in her work and built many lifelong friendships throughout the years. Her faith and the support of her family and friends guided her through life's challenges.
Theresa was a fun-loving, happy go lucky person. She embraced her Irish heritage and celebrated special occasions and holidays surrounded by family and friends. In retirement, she enjoyed living in Rhode Island and relaxing by the ocean. She approached life with a gentle heart and a generous spirit; always willing to lend a hand to help all those she knew.
As we bid farewell to Theresa, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a legacy of love and faith that will continue to inspire. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of her family, friends and all who were blessed to cross her path. May she rest in peace, knowing that her life was a reflection of the love she shared with so many.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Cargain Funeral Home, 418 Route 6 (GPS US-6), Mahopac, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 221 East Lake Boulevard, Mahopac, NY.
Private cremation to follow.
