Theresa Antoinette DiGiamberardino (nee Ratz) age 94 passed peacefully on April 30, 2025. Daughter of the late Emil J. and Theresa A. Ratz, she was born in Woodbury, NJ on April 23,1931, and was a lifelong resident of Mantua Township. She was known as "Dolly" to her DeCesari cousins and family members.
Theresa was a 1949 graduate of Pitman High School, graduating from Glassboro State College in 1953. She was a cheerleader for both schools, as well as co-captain at Glassboro State. She taught at Harrison Twp. and Sewell Schools, where she also served as a substitute teacher.
Theresa was a former member of the Sewell School Association, and member of the Barnsboro United Methodist Church, where she served as Membership Secretary from 1990-2022 as well as former Membership Secretary of the United Methodist Women. In her younger years she was an original member of Just Us Girls and the Junior Choir at the Mantua United Methodist Church and Chairperson for Pitman HS Class of 1949 Reunions. In 1977 she became a founding member of the Mantua Township Historic Commission. One of her greatest joys was helping her late husband with Bonsal Blues Military Band activities as well as the Hal Davis Orchestra.
Theresa was the loving wife of the late Dr. David L. DiGiamberardino, beloved mother of Michael DiGiamberardino and Rev. John DiGiamberardino and his wife, Paula and loving grandmother to Bradley, Jayson (Sarah) and Abigale.
Relatives and friends may visit from 10:00am-12:00pm on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Mantua, NJ where a funeral service will be held at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Mantua Twp. Historical Commission Elevator Fund, 145 Mantua Boulevard, Mantua, NJ 08051, Barnsboro United Methodist Church, 125 Barnsboro Rd., Sewell, NJ 08080 or South Seaville United Methodist Church, PO Box 158, South Seaville, NJ 08246.
