Theresa Irving Franklin entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 31, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 78. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Theresa was educated in the New Orleans Parish School System. She was a retired Food Service Manager with Ochsner Meadowcrest Hospital in Gretna, LA for over 30 years of dedicated service. A lifelong member and usher at Greater Morning Star Baptist Church, where her faith and generosity touched many lives. Known for her kindness, giving spirit, and unwavering love, she was a beacon of warmth to all who knew her. Devoted wife of 57 years to Hubert Franklin, Sr. Loving mother of Hubert (Trenelle’) Franklin, Jr., and the late Mark Anthony Franklin. Bonus mother of Denise Cross. Grandmother of Hubert “Herm” Franklin III, Vincent “Mikey” Washington, Joe Cross, Jade Cobb, Kennedi Franklin, Kimberly Cross, and Cindy Cross. Great grandmother of Princeton Washington. Daughter of the late Louis, Sr. and Josephine Irving. Sister of Louis Irving, Jr., Joann LaBostrie, Patricia Irving, Ronald Irving, Trena I. Lyons, and the late Lois Franklin, Larry, Ernest, and Errol Irving. Theresa is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Greater Morning Star Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Greater Morning Star Baptist Church, 1242 Vallette St., New Orleans, LA, on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Bishop W.L.T. Littleton officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30am until service time at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery- Avondale, LA.
