Obituary for Theresa Michelle Hinton
Theresa Michelle Hinton, lovingly known as Michelle, passed away peacefully at her home in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. Born on February 24, 1968, in Washington, D.C., to the late William Frank Wright and Mary McDonald, Michelle brought joy and love to every life she touched. In the 1990s, she made her way to Spotsylvania County, where she built a life centered around family, friendship, and community - a place she proudly called home.
In her late 20s through her mid-30s, Michelle found her calling as an alcohol and addiction counselor. She worked tirelessly with teen runaways, elderly individuals, and others in recovery - people who often felt forgotten by the world. Through this work, Michelle poured her heart and spirit into helping others heal. She shared her love in one of the most powerful ways possible: by guiding others through their darkest times and showing them they were not alone. This part of her life remains a deep inspiration to her daughter and a lasting testament to Michelle's compassion and strength.
Michelle was the devoted mother of three: Gwendolyn Hinton, Anthony "TJ" Hinton Jr., and Anthony Hinton III. She is also survived by her cherished niece, Destiny Wright, and her beloved great-nephew, Grayson Wright, who held a truly special place in her heart. Her sister-in-love, Michelle Cable, and a host of incredible friends also mourn her passing.
Michelle was preceded in death by her mother, Mary McDonald; her father, William Wright; her sister, Wanda Wright; and her niece, Ebony Wright.
Those who knew Michelle often said the same thing - she was simply amazing. Her heart was vast, her spirit infectious, and her strength unmatched. She was a woman of joy, resilience, and boundless generosity. Her daughter, Gwendolyn, remembers her as one of the strongest women she has ever known, a true hustler with a heart of gold. Michelle Cable will always remember her as "Queenie" - a nod to her love for crowns, angels, and all things fabulous.
Michelle's legacy is one of love, laughter, and compassion. Her famous words, "One thing's for certain and two things for sure," will continue to echo in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A celebration of Michelle's life will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Agape Life Services Funeral Home. A viewing will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens in
Fredericksburg, Virginia.
In honor of Michelle's vibrant spirit and her love of life, the family kindly requests that all attendees wear red or colorful attire. They ask that black clothing be avoided as a tribute to the joy Michelle brought into the world.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Michelle's GoFundMe or given directly to her children to help support them during this difficult time.
Michelle Hinton will be deeply missed, but her light, love, and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
