Theresa Anne Washington, a resident of Altus Air Force Base, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2024, at her home. Born on July 6, 1978, to Thomas W. Wilkinson, Sr. and Susan Wilkinson in
Alton, Illinois, Terri spent her formative years in the Alton area, where she cultivated her caring and loving nature. Her journey began with the Girl Scouts, shaping her into a compassionate individual. She graduated from Marquette Catholic School in 1997 before pursuing her passion for education at college in Illinois.
Fate intervened when she crossed paths with Lloyd Arthur Washington, Jr., a friend of her brother. What started as friendship blossomed into a deep and enduring love. Theresa and Lloyd, affectionately known as Terri, epitomized soulmates, standing by each other through life's highs and lows. Their unwavering bond led to marriage on October 13, 2011, in
Riverside, California, before they embarked on a journey that took them from
Ferguson, Missouri to
Hemet, California, and finally to
Altus, Oklahoma.
Terri's talents extended beyond her home, where she became renowned for her delectable desserts and legendary cookies, delighting many within the Air Force community. Her love for travel led her to cherished destinations in Florida and Arkansas, as well as to Medieval Times restaurants, with only Chicago and Tennessee remaining on her checklist. A self-proclaimed book snob, Terri cherished her collection of hardbound books and indulged in her passion for collecting POPS, Disney villains, and all things Hogwarts-related.
Yet, amidst her varied interests, Terri's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She radiated love and warmth, finding immense pleasure in spoiling her nieces and nephews, fulfilling their every desire.
