Thomas J. Beatrice Sr., 81, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 while in hospice care at the VA medical facility in Brockton, MA. He leaves behind his children TJ, Greg (wife, Sara), and Holly, along with 5 grandchildren, Ruby, Avery, Sadie, Malia, and Soleil. He also leaves his partner Camille Wells, nieces and nephews, former wife Judy, extended family members, and a large network of friends he made along the way. Tom was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Catherine (Salzer) Beatrice, and siblings Robert, Lawrence, and Catherine.
Born in Peace Dale, RI, Tom was a proud member of the SKHS class of '62. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps serving time at both Camp Lejeune and Paris Island. After an honorable discharge from the Marines Tom enrolled in the University of Rhode Island, graduating with a degree in Business.
Tom volunteered with the SC Ambulance Corp, the building committee for the SK Middle School, SK Zoning board (including time as Chairman), and was a member of the Wakefield Rotary Club. He was best known as owner of Video Encounters (later American Video) in Wakefield and as "ToMagician," performing magic shows for children throughout RI, MA, and CT. Over the years, many have reached out to Tom remembering birthday parties he performed at, some from as far back as 50 years ago. Tom even performed at parties for children of children for whom he performed 25 years earlier.
In his recent years, Tom split his time between Scituate, MA and Placida, FL. He enjoyed spending time with family, was very proud of his children and grandchildren, and was an avid golfer and card player. He loved spending time with friends including Sundays at the Elks Club in Weymouth, MA.
Beloved by many, Tom possessed a quick wit and positive attitude about life. He was always ready with a joke and loved making people laugh. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
The family thanks the staff of the VA hospitals in Brockton and West Roxbury and the friends who made Tom's last weeks easier and very special.
A relaxed casual gathering to celebrate Tom will be held at the South Kingstown Elks, 60 Belmont Ave, Wakefield, RI on Tuesday, November 18th from 3-6pm. In lieu of flowers, please honor Tom by reaching out to an old friend of your own.
