Georgia – Thomas Edward Biggie passed away in the comfort of his home with his family at his side on Sunday October 1, 2023.
He was born in St. Albans on March 13, 1943, son of the late John and Mildred (Devarney) Biggie.
After graduation from Bellows Free Academy St. Albans, he joined the United States Army. Upon his discharge, he started working for General Electric as a Toolmaker, continuing until his retirement from General Dynamics in 1998. He was a member of the St. Albans Sportsman Club enjoying many years of skeet shooting. Tom also enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and was an avid collector of antique phones.
On October 24, 1970, he married Fern Couture. They would have been married 53 years this year.
He is survived by his wife; Fern, his daughter; Erin Lowell, son-in-law Jason, and grandchildren; Lindsey, Emily, Karlie and Kaden Lowell, and one great grandson; Buckley Callan, his sister Jeanne (Richard) Yetter, and brother; John (Torunn) Biggie.
Tom's family will receive family and friends on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM with Father Christopher Micale officiating. There will be a reception followed by committal prayers at the St. George Cemetery in Bakersfield at 4:30PM.
