Thomas Harley Donaway, the "Rock-A-Walkin' rock" 77 of Pittsville passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2025. Born in Pittsville on August 7th 1947 he was the son of Harley and Ethel Donaway. He was raised in Salisbury and a graduate of Wicomico High School in 1965. Tommy enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching, watching softball games and spending time with his family and friends. He was a long-time member of the Pittsville Lions Club, coached youth soccer and basketball, played for many years on the Carey's 35 and over softball league. His family was his pride and joy and would never miss an event to support them. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Nancy Powell Donaway. His daughter Cheryl Carpenter and son Stephen Donaway. His grandchildren Dylan Carpenter, Harleigh Donaway, Liam and Jase Efford. Great-grandchildren Braelynn, Bella and Ronan. Sister Mary Lou Steimer, brother George Donaway and wife Debbie, brother-in-law Robert Powell and wife Kathy. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends including his lifelong loyal friend Bill Johnson. Preceding him in death are his parents and his son-in-law Mike Carpenter, In-laws Harold and Juanita Powell, and Brother in law William Steimer. A memorial service will be held at Mt. Hermon Church on Sunday, March 2nd at 2pm. Family and friends are welcome to join for food and fellowship after the services in the church hall. In lieu of flowers please make donations in his memory to Mt. Hermon Church PO Box 1094 Salisbury, Md 21802 or Powellville Volunteer Fire company 5085 Powellville Rd. Pittsville, MD 21850.
