Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center - ChambersburgThomas M. Englerth, 84, passed away Tuesday, August 12th, 2025, at his home in Fort Loudon, PA, surrounded by family, friends, and his fur buddies.
Tom was born October 5th, 1940, in Chambersburg, PA to the late Thomas B. Englerth and Isabel Spahr Englerth. Tom was also preceded in death by his son, Danny Englerth.
Tom is survived by his wife Brenda Englerth, sister Mary Lynn Keller, Alliance, OH, sons Thomas B. Englerth, II, (Jenny) York PA, and John C. Englerth (Jen), Virginia Beach, VA, Jane R. Englerth, mother of Tom’s sons, Chambersburg, PA, grandchildren Thomas M., II (Hanna), Lena, Kyra (Austin), Jake, Dalton, Madden, and Mira, nephews Jay (Meghan) Keller, Damon (Amanda) Keller, Scott Barrows (Maddy) , Steven Barrows (Carley), niece Katherine Clark , and foster son Tony Perrera (Sasha).
Tom graduated from CASHS in 1958, and attended Penn State and Shippensburg College. Tom served in the Army including a tour in post-war Korea where he was trained as a land surveyor. After his Honorable Discharge, he continued his career as a land surveyor. Tom earned his PA Professional Land Surveyor License, working for County Surveyor John McClelland and William A. Brindle Associates. Tom opened TME Surveying in 1976. In 2015 TME Surveying was sold to William A. Brindle Associates, and Tom retired from land surveying in 2021.
During his lifetime Tom was reading tutor and a little league baseball coach. He was active in the Fayetteville Ruritan, Fayetteville Athletic Association, and the Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education (ABATE) of PA.
Tom enjoyed traveling on his Harley Davidson including trips to Key West, FL, Nova Scotia, and following the Lewis and Clark trail to the Pacific Ocean. Tom enjoyed camping, bicycling, and surf fishing. Most of all, Tom enjoyed spending time telling tales and laughing with family and friends and spending time with his pets.
Family and friends are invited to help celebrate Tom’s life on Sunday, August 24th, from noon to 4:00 pm at the Fannettsburg Inn, 11057 Creek Rd., Fannettsburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
