Thomas L. Franklin, 60, of Spring Mills, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. Born on June 8, 1962, he was the son of the late Thomas H. Franklin, Jr and Carole E. (Peters) Franklin.
Tom graduated from Penns Valley High School in 1982 and graduated with honors from the autobody program at Centre County Vocational Technical School. He worked as a mechanic for the PA Fish and Boat Commission for many years.
Tom was a member of the Smith-Pletcher American Legion Post #779 in Centre Hall and the Union County Sportsman's Club. He was an outdoorsman that enjoyed time spent hunting and riding his snow mobile, as well as cooking on his grill. He could often be found tinkering on one of his many garden tractors or turning a wrench as a mechanic.
Tom is survived by his two daughters, Megan A. Dutrow and her husband, Thomas, of Aaronsburg and Lydia Franklin of Spring Mills and her significant other, Greg Woomer, of Hublersburg; one grandson, Trafford Dutrow; two brothers, Brian N. Franklin of Ebensburg and Robert L. Franklin of Englewood, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his four legged canine companion, Patches.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, from 5pm – 6pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc in Centre Hall. A funeral service will immediately follow at 6pm with Pastor Greg Shipe officiating. He will be laid to rest privately at the Reformed & Lutheran Cemetery in Centre Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc, PO Box 579, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
