Thomas Gildea, of Quincy, a former employee of Boston Edison, died at South Shore Hospital on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the age of 90. Born in Boston, Tom was raised on Weld Street in the city's West Roxbury neighborhood. He was a graduate of Boston Latin School, the College of the Holy Cross and Boston University. For over thirty years, Tom worked as a statistician in the rate and forecasting department of Boston Edison. Tom married the late Anne M. Reardon, moved to Quincy and started a family. He was the loving father of Thomas Gildea and his wife Amy of Weymouth and Stephan Gildea and his wife Barbara of Kingston, the devoted Grandpa to Jillian, Ryan, Lannan, Roisin and Regan.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday, May 5, 2025 from 4 - 7 PM at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home - North, 40 Sea Street Weymouth . A celebration of life service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, May 6th, prior to the funeral Mass in St. Agatha Church, Milton at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
Donations in Tom’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
