Thomas G. Gillette, 73, lovingly known as Tommy, Tomboy, or Jetman, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025.
Born on August 24th, 1951 to the late Pat and Regina Gillette, Tommy was known for his gentle soul, quick sense of humor, and deep love for his family.
Tommy was a supervisor at Peyton's Mid-South for 37 years before his retirement in 2006. The friendships he developed during his time there remained important to him long after retirement.
In his younger years, Tommy enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping in the great outdoors. Later in life he liked spending summers with his beloved lake family at Rough River Lake. You would often find him on his deck overlooking the lake with a beverage in his hand, enjoying the simple pleasures of lake life. He especially treasured time with is grandchildren, Ethan and Vanessa, who brought tremendous joy to his life.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Debbie (Muench) Gillette, his son Gary Gillette (Debra) and her children, daughter Stacey Edelen (Scott), and grandchildren Ethan and Vanessa Edelen.
Siblings Patti Walker (Keith), Rick Gillette (Patty), Marie O'Bryan (Dennis), Jackie Chandler (David), Janet Webber (Ron), Joe Gillette (Pat), Diane Walker, and Steve Gillette (Susie) along with many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at St. Ignatius on July 13, 2025, from 3pm - 6:30 pm.
