Tom worked for Southwestern Bell for 29 years, retiring in 1993 as the General Manager of Network Operations in Arkansas. In 2001, he and Mary Ann moved to Fair Oaks Ranch, TX where they built their dream home.
Tom's love of music of all kinds came from his musician father and was passed down to his sons and grandchildren. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of history, specifically World Wars I and II, as well as the Civil War. This passion was connected to his coin and stamp collections. Additionally, Tom was a huge supporter of the military and veterans.
As an avid sports fan, when he wasn't watching the Houston Astros, Dallas Cowboys, or San Antonio Spurs, he was watching his beloved alma mater, Texas Tech. He also enjoyed coaching his sons' sports teams when they were young.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents and his favorite dog, Phoebe. He is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Mary Ann; his sons, Rob (Kristi) Green of El Dorado, AR, and Brad (Kristina) Green of Boerne, TX; four grandchildren: Alyson, Braden, Parker and Finn; and sisters, Judy Sherry, Jo Ann Bledsoe; dear friends and extended family.
The family would like to thank the exceptional staff at Kendall House at Morningside Ministries and Alamo Hospice.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 21, 2022, 2:00 pm at Spring Creek Methodist Church, 28970 Old Fredericksburg Rd, Fair Oaks Ranch, TX 78015.
