Thomas William Harding

Thomas William Harding, age 69, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 with his loving wife, Beverly, by his side.
Born to the late James and Constance Olive Harding in 1951, Tom spent his childhood years in New Jersey. He attended Dunellen High School in Dunellen, NJ and graduated in 1970. He went on to complete his higher education by attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he received a B.S. in Physics. He then attended Lehigh University, earning his M.S. and Ph.D. in Physics, which he completed 1984. A brilliant man, Tom was employed by the DuPont Chemical Company as a Research Associate and Principal Investigator from 1984 to March 1, 2016.
When Tom wasn't working, he greatly enjoyed fly fishing and building model engines. He was also active in various groups including: Rough and Tumble (board member), Delaware Astronomical Society (board member) and Trout Unlimited. Most of all, Tom enjoyed spending time with his wife, Beverly.
Tom is survived by his wife of 42 years, Beverly Minsberg; his brother, Jim Harding (Ruth) of Doylestown, PA; his brother, David Harding of Hillsborough, NJ; his sister, Katherine Carpenter (Michael) of Lake View Terrace, CA; his nephews, Andrew Harding and James W. Harding; and his niece, Maureen Harding. He will be sincerely missed by all.
Beverly would like to thank Dr. Lankiewicz and all of the staff at the Helen Graham Cancer Center for their compassionate care of Tom.
A graveside service will be held for Tom on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 11am at Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church, 101 Old Kennett Road, Wilmington, DE.
In lieu of flowers, Beverly recommends memorial contributions be made in Tom's name to the Blood Bank of DelMarVa, 100 Hygeia Drive, Newark, DE 19713.
