Thomas E. Harrington

Thomas E. Harrington, 74, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022. He was born in Saratoga Springs, NY on August 17, 1947, to Robert and Lucy Harrington. He proudly served in the US Army. He then worked for General Electric Co in Schenectady for many years until his retirement.

He enjoyed drinking coffee at Stewart's with friends and joking with staff. Tom, better known as 'Old Man Harrington', always made sure to be the loudest in the room. He never came and left without a bang. All in great fun, Tom would pick on everyone. Despite his jokes, he had a heart of gold. He would do anything for anyone and has made many honorable sacrifices for others throughout his life. In addition to his kind and selfless heart he generated a positive aura even in the toughest of times. His company alone was an essential part of our lives. His grandchildren all meant the world to him, particularly his pride and joy Michaela, aka peanut. Tom will be dearly missed by a village.

He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Lucy; loving wife Mary Jo, son John, sisters Jean Baker and Delores Prill, and brother Robert Harrington, Jr. Tom is survived by his son Thomas Harrington; grandchildren Taylor Harrington, Alyx Harrington, Michaela Harrington "Peanut", Aubrey Harrington, and Isla Harrington; great grandchildren Milo and Wade; sisters Margaret Grabo and Sheila Watkins; brothers William Harrington, Fred Michael Harrington, James Harrington and Raymond Harrington; and many cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, February 17 from 5pm to 7pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A graveside service will be held at Middle Grove Cemetery in the Spring. Memorial contributions in memory of Tom may be made to Valhalla Project 22 A Day, The Gary Sinise Foundation, Semper Fi Fund, or a charity of your choice.
