Thomas Jahnke Obituary

Born on October 7, 1941 to Nunziata (Russo) and Ernest Jahnke and was raised in West New York, NJ. Thomas joined the US Navy and was stations in Spain and Germany. While on leave from the Navy, Thomas met the love of his life, Alice (Mulvany) in Dublin, Ireland. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Thomas returned to the states with Alice and they were wedded on August 21, 1965.They remained in West New York, raising their young children until 1973, when they moved to Bogota, NJ. Tom and Alice resided in Bogota until 2003, when they made their final home in Vernon, NJ
Thomas worked for Verizon for 32 years as a supervisor before retiring in 1999. He was a proud veteran, serving as the Commander and staying active with the VFW Chapter 5561.
Thomas is survived by two sisters, AnnMarie Cuomo and Sarafina Bowdoin;; his children Audrey, Thomas and Scott; his niece Debbie and two nephews Chris and Jimmy; his 10 grandchildren Connor, Megan, Gabby, Katyl, Nick, Gianna, Scott Jr, Danny, Marisa and Hailee; and one great granddaughter Tessa.
Thomas is predeceased by his wife Alice, parents Nunziata and Ernest, and his two brothers, Arthur and Frank Jahnke.
On Saturday, July 27th at 11:30 am there will be a memorial mass at St. Francis De Sales Church (6 Cty Rd 517, Sussex NJ). Immediately following the mass, there will be a military burial at Northern NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetary(75 N. Church Rd, Sparta).
In lieu of flowers, it was Thomas' wish for donations to be made in his memory to Disabled American Veterans (DAV)

I'v lovely memories of Tom visiting Ireland with Alice my cousin and also my godmother. They were a lovely united couple and great fun too.

We the Kennedy cousins of Alice have great memories of Tom and Alice's visit in 2017 and also Tom's visit ladt year with Thomas junior.
He was a lovely gentleman. Eternal rest and peace to his soul.
