It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Gene Marmuscak, who was born on October 19, 1952, in Corning, NY, and passed away on November 21, 2025, at Corning Center. Tom was known for his intelligence, generous spirit, and work ethic.

Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served in Thailand during the Vietnam War. During his military career, he was also stationed in Hawaii, Guam, and Michigan. After his service, he built a successful career in process engineering for 25+ years with Corning, Inc., until his retirement in 2009. He traveled for work, including to Germany and across the United States. Even after retirement, he returned as a consultant for several years. He applied his intelligence - particularly his affinity for numbers - and commitment to every task. He had a passion for cooking (especially his homemade sauce, meatballs, and famous soups), gardening, golfing, and was an avid sports fan, cheering enthusiastically for his beloved New York teams, the Yankees and Giants.

Tom is survived by his wife, Debra (Ortolani) Marmuscak; daughters, Emily Marmuscak Donlon (Joseph), Caitlin Hatcher (Timothy), and Allison Ortolani; siblings, Elizabeth Eades and Gerald Marmuscak (Marjorie); sister-in-law, Suzanne (French) Marmuscak; nephew, Adam Marmuscak (Katherine); five grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine (Yorio) and Michael Marmuscak, and brother, Michael G. Marmuscak.

He delighted in spending time with his grandchildren, coming up with engaging activities, from baking and science experiments to creating a backyard ice-skating rink. His generous and supportive nature will always be remembered by his family.

We invite you to share your cherished memories of Tom Marmuscak and upload photos to his memorial page. In doing so, we can keep his spirit alive and remember the extraordinary man that was Tom.

A Graveside Service will be held at Greensprings Natural Cemetery Preserve, 293 Irish Hill Rd, Newfield, NY, at noon on Friday, November 28, 2025, with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, donations are invited to Pantry of Angels, 682 County Rd 115, Lindley, NY, 14858.
