Thomas Mirabelli Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Legacy Options Funeral and Cremation Services, LLC - Naples on Nov. 8, 2023.
Thomas Mirabelli, 80, passed away on November 4, 2023, in Naples, Florida. He was an extremely loving and devoted husband to his wife Karen. He was loved by everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all – but most of all by Karen.
Tom was born on July 15, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York to Albert and Josephine Mirabelli. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister, and niece. He is survived by his wife, Karen and best friends Richie & Claire DeVito and Sal Fazio from Staten Island, New York. He was very fortunate to have Karen's long-time friend, Margaret Egan, and Karen's cousins, John Hassell and Mary Dolfinger living nearby. They all had good times together. Tom's niece Josephine and her husband Norman Hoey relocated to Naples from Tucson, Arizona but unfortunately both are now deceased.
For many years Tom worked on Wall Street in the margin department, then moved on to Prudential Insurance where he worked in Brooklyn. Tom and Karen rented several apartments in Brooklyn after they married, then they purchased a house on Staten Island where Tom's good friends lived. When he retired from Prudential, he drove a school bus on Staten Island. He had many great stories regarding that job! After retirement Tom and Karen relocated from Staten Island to Naples in 2005. They both enjoyed living in Riviera Golf Estates.
Tom and Karen traveled extensively to Europe, but mostly to Italy – Tom's favorite country! Tom had owned a log cabin in the Adirondacks before he was married to Karen, and both had great times there. After selling the cabin, Tom and Karen bought a small weekend house in Woodstock, New York to enjoy the Catskills. Tom was a true woodsman and enjoyed sitting by the fire, chopping wood and fishing.
Tom's favorite sport was football and he closely followed it. He was extremely interested in political and world events. He would engage in interesting conversations regarding both subjects. He had a passion for cars and would read up on them and plan his next one! Tom also loved to cook, especially Italian dishes. He has many, many cookbooks and recipes written down.
Burial will be held in Hanover Green Cemetery in Hanover Township, Pennsylvania.
