Thomas Patrick Peterson, known lovingly as "Pete" to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, at Riddle Hospital. Born on October 1, 1944, in Philadelphia, PA, Pete's life was marked by his unwavering kindness, humor, and love for his family and friends.
Pete grew up in the heart of Philadelphia, the son of the late John and Marie Peterson. He was a beloved brother to Jack Peterson and the late Raymond Peterson. After graduating from West Catholic High School, Pete dedicated four years of his life to serving his country in the US Air Force, where he proudly served in Vietnam War. Following his military service, he embarked on a fulfilling career with US Airways, from which he eventually retired.
Pete was a devoted husband to his wife, Alice Peterson, and a loving father to his children, Heather, Aimee, Lauren, Andrea, Alicia, Roxanne, Joseph (Agusta), and the late Christopher.
His life was further enriched by his grandchildren, Dominic, Aliyah, Da'Quan, Christopher, the late Da'Mon, Gianni, Tommy, Vance, Vinny, Kimoni, Milania, Aria, Rayna, Giselle, and Gianna, and great-grandchildren, Ahmir, Armani, and Akari.
Those who knew Pete will remember him as the life of the party. With a joke always at the ready, he could light up any room with laughter. His kind and loving nature was evident in every aspect of his life. Pete was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Eagles and all Philadelphia teams.
He cherished the moments spent with family, friends and especially supporting his daughter Andrea on the basketball court creating memories that she will hold dear forever. Pete's legacy is one of laughter, generosity, and unwavering support. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Family and friends are invited to attend Pete's viewing on Tuesday July 22, 2025 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home 301 Chester Pike, Norwood. A Prayer service will begin at 11:00 am followed by Full Military Veteran Honors. Interment Private.
