He was born January 28, 1975, in Wautoma, WI, the son of Lawrence and Alice Leone Phelps. Tommy was a 1994 graduate of Wautoma High School. On August 25, 2017, he was united in marriage to Heather Patri at Willow Creek Park in Redgranite.
Tommy was an over-the-road truck driver for commercial transportation companies and hauled corn and beans for various farms in the area. He was a mechanic who loved to tinker around in his shop. When he wasn't tinkering, he loved to be outside riding his Harley.
He is survived by his wife, Heather; father, Lawrence Phelps; stepson, Christopher Schlender; siblings, Tammi (Carl) Schoohs, Keith Phelps, Barbie Phelps, Connie Phelps (special friend, Steve), Bobby (Becky) Phelps and Paula (Jonny) Johnson; brother-in-law, Brandon (Kerry) Vetrone; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Tommy was preceded in death by his mother, Alice; grandparents, Sam (Elsie) Leone and Edgar (Bernice) Phelps; niece, Sha Le Phelps; great niece, Elsa Phelps; mother-in-law, Mary Vetrone; and father-in-law, Richard Vetrone.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, October 6, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Redgranite Lion's Hall. Private inurnment will be in Poy Sippi Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola-Hempel Funeral Chapel in Poy Sippi. A memorial has been established.
