Publish in a newspaper

Thomas Gerald Raque, Sr., left us peacefully on September 13, 2025. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on February 6, 1936, to the late Sylvester Raque and Elizabeth (Lila) Raque. Tom was a 1954 graduate of St. Xavier High School and, after seven years with Dean Milk Company, went on to be a successful independent business owner. His bright yellow Tom Raque Distributing Company trucks could be seen all around town and throughout the state of Kentucky. He was hardworking, faithful and fiercely loyal and loving to his wife, children and extended family. He was a devout Catholic and was a member of Epiphany parish. In retirement, he enjoyed delivering for Meals on Wheels. He loved to fish and taught every one of his children and grandchildren the art of the cast. He spent many wonderful summers at their cabin on Nolin Lake where he loved boating and entertaining family and friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jay Raque. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Nancy J. Raque; brother, Ron; sisters, Sherry and Betty. He also leaves behind five children: Debbie Boone, Thomas Raque, Jr. (Robyn), Cindy Phillips (Punch), Laura McClellan (Mark), and Angela Glander (Christian). He is also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with one on the way.

We would like to thank all of his compassionate doctors and his care team at Baptist Hospital.

The visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at Ratterman Family Funeral Home on 12900 Shelbyville Road, Middletown, KY, 40243. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Epiphany Catholic Church, on 914 Old Harrods Creek Road, Louisville, KY 40223. Burial is at Cave Hill Cemetery.
