Thomas George "Tom" Sigman

Thomas George Sigman, 80, passed away May 15, 2025 while in hospice care in Kent, Ohio. Tom, or "Uncle Tommy," was born and raised on Staten Island and graduated from Port Richmond High School, and for many years worked alongside his father at Walter and Harry's Esso Service Station in Tompkinsville. Tom was a lifelong lover of baseball, holding steady as a Yankees fan in Ohio. He developed his stickball skills on Oakland Avenue on Staten Island and was a noted summertime slugger on the ballfields of Brainerd Farm in Windham, NY, with local newspaper reports detailing his hitting prowess and fast base running for such teams as the Brainerd Yanks, Esquire Juniors, and Sigman Boys.

Tom will be missed by his loving sister, Kathleen (Gary) Kestler; his niece and goddaughter, Laura Sigman; and his beloved nephew, James Sigman. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry; mother, Frances; sister, Evelyn; and brother, Richard, who hopefully had several mini éclairs from Alfonso's waiting for him upon his arrival. Rest easy, Uncle Tommy.
