Thomas John Stoecklin Jr.

Thomas John Stoecklin, Jr., 66, beloved husband of Doreen (Cummings) Stoecklin of Windsor, passed away peacefully, at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Port Chester, NY, son of the late Thomas J. Stoecklin, Sr. and Regina (Kelly) Stoecklin, he was raised in Stratford, CT. Tom earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hartford and his Masters of Science in Management from Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute (Hartford). He served on active duty in the US Navy from 1976-1980. Tom was employed assembling and testing environmental system components for NASA's Space Shuttle and Spacesuit Project. He was then employed by Hamilton Sunstrand since 1990 as a Project Engineer for Spacesuit Life Support Systems, work that gave him much pride and satisfaction. He also continued this important work with UTC Aerosystems and Aerotek before retiring in 2017. Tom enjoyed travel and outdoor sports including fishing and hunting, but most important was the quality time he spent with his wife Doreen, his children, and of course his adored grandchildren.
Besides his wife Doreen, he leaves a son Casey Stoecklin and his wife Megan (Blunden) of West Simsbury; a daughter Brynn (Stoecklin) Casey and her husband Brendan of Medford, MA; three grandchildren Cullen, Maren and Casey Stoecklin; two sisters Mary Ann Pollaro and her husband Paul of Woodbridge, CT, and Kate Duffy and her husband Bill of Bristol, CT; four brothers William and his wife Anna of Albany, NY, James and his wife Jill of Hartwick, NY, and Robert and John Stoecklin both of Stratford, CT; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother David Stoecklin. His family will receive friends Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 4-7 PM at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor, CT. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Friday, June 28, 2024, at 10:30 AM at St. Damien of Molokai Parish, St. Joseph Church, 1747 Poquonock Avenue, Windsor, CT.
