Thomas P. Thonis

RINDGE, NH/ TOWNSEND: Thomas P. Thonis, 63, of Rindge, formerly of Townsend, died Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at his residence.
Tom was born in Cairo, Egypt, October 5, 1960, a son of the late Paul J. and Yvonne T. (Poitras) Thonis and was a 1979 graduate of North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend. He has resided in Rindge for the past eight years.
He leaves his wife of 7 years, Brenda L. (Labrecque) Thonis; four daughters, Abigail Sinclair of Athol, Sarah Gale and her husband, Michael of Winchendon, Jessica Barger and her husband, Bobby of Greenville, NH, Alexandra Demmons and her husband, Michael of Wilton, NH; two step sons, Ricky Calzolano of Amityville, NY, Asher Calzolano of Accord, NY; his stepdaughter, Roxanne Calzolano of Iowa; his sister, Cathryn Emmons and her husband, George, of South Berwick, ME; four grandchildren, Lincoln, Vincent, Liberty and Dahlia.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret M. (Swensen) Thonis, in March 2012, his brother, John K. Thonis of Townsend in 2005 and his sister, Mary M. Duncan of Sargentville, ME in 2011.
Tom worked 30 years as a union painter before retiring in 2015.
He was a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Local
# 577 in Roslindale. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, boating, barbecuing and spending time with his family and friends and was an active volunteer at the United Church of Jaffrey Food Pantry – Food Distribution Center.
Tom's family will receive relatives and friends at calling hours 4-7 PM Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 250 Main Street, (Rte 119) Townsend Center. www.andersonfuneral.com.
Interment at Hillside Cemetery, Townsend will be held privately.
