Thomas Tolfree Obituary

Thomas J. Tolfree, age 84, died at Ellis Hospital on January 1, 2025. Thomas was born on December 13, 1940, in Bronx, NY, and was the son of the late Herbert and Eileen (Creamer) Tolfree.
After graduating from Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx at the age of 16, Thomas enjoyed fulfilling careers first at UPS as a district manager in NYC and then as the plant manager of White Coffee Corporation in Astoria, NY.
Thomas was the former husband of the late Karen Lee Tolfree and the father of Thomas Michael Tolfree (Joan), Jill Smith (Chris), Lee-Ann Tolfree Mertzlufft, Eric Tolfree, and Ian Tolfree. He was the grandfather of Rowan Tolfree and Nyala Tolfree; Casey Dembrowski (Tim) and great-grandchildren Hailey and Charles; Jillian Lee Mertzlufft, Ana Mertzlufft, and Lilly-Ann Mertzlufft; Denali Townsend (Kevin) and great-grandchild Layne; McKinley Hoy-Smith (Shake); Jackson Smith; Jean-Luc Tolfree; and Arielle Tolfree.
Thomas is also survived by his siblings James Tolfree (Maureen), Joe Tolfree (Kate), Rita Early (late Peter), Eileen Raefski (late Raymond), Patricia Steimel (Joe), and Mary Yannaco (Frank).
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 14, 2025, in Long Beach, NY.
