Funeral Mass for Thomas “Tom” Weiand, 65, of Glen Ullin will be held at 10:00 am CT Friday, May 10, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin with Father Gary Benz celebrating. Burial will follow at Glen Ullin Cemetery.
Visitation for Tom will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm CT Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin with a rosary taking place at 6:00 pm CT.
Tom passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 5, 2024 in his home.
Thomas “Tom” Jacob Weiand was born March 11, 1959 in Hazen to Jack and Charmaine (Wetzel) Weiand. He grew up and attended school in Glen Ullin. Tom began his farming career at a young age helping local farmers in the Glen Ullin and Hebron areas. He met and married Laurie Tibor and together the couple was blessed with four children, Sarah, Amy, Katie and Evan. Tom began farming on the C&M Schantz farm, working alongside Chester and Miles for over thirty years. Farming was Tom’s life. He was the right hand man, helping where ever he was needed. Tom met Deb Wolfer in 1992 at a pool tournament. The couple have been together since.
Tom enjoyed butchering, riding motorcycle, camping and fishing, helping others, and the yearly family get-togethers.
Tom is survived by his children, Amy Weiand of Bismarck, Katie (Jeff) Olson of Bismarck, Evan Weiand of Glen Ullin; significant other, Deb Wolfer and their dog, Charlie “Lil Feller” of Glen Ullin; and Deb’s children, Derek Wolfer of Mandan, Dylan Wolfer of Bismarck; sister, Ruth (Isidore) Thomas of Bismarck; brothers, Steph (Julie) Weiand of Pelican Rapids, MN, Nick (Kelly) Weiand of Bismarck, Scott (Jackie) Weiand of Fargo, Tony (Jillian) Roubal of Rosemount, MN; grandchildren, Noah Weiand, Ayden, Ben, Henry, Harper Olson; friends, Chester and Miles Schantz; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Weiand; Charmaine and Tony Roubal; and infant daughter, Sarah; grandparents, Rose Schumacher and Ruth and Edmund Wetzel.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Glen Ullin G.U.P.P.I.E.S.
