On August 22, 2025, the world lost a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Thomas Richard Wood. Born on December 25, 1936, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Tom lived a life full of joy, laughter, and love that resonated with all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A resident of Buford, Georgia, he cherished every moment spent with his family and friends, bringing a spark of joy wherever he went.

Tom was a true renaissance man at heart. He enjoyed the thrill of golf and the refreshing embrace of swimming. His passion for skating and dancing kept him young at heart, proving that age truly is just a number. And let's not forget his love for football, and baseball especially the Braves which he embraced with the enthusiasm of a true fan. His voice, rich and melodious, filled the halls of his church and the local senior center as he shared his love for singing.

He was the proud father of Cindy Wood and Thomas Wood II, and former wife Marie Wood who brought immeasurable joy to his life along with daughter-in-law Christy Wood. Tom's legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Thomas Wood III, Mason Truelove, Sarah Batastani (Zach), Kimberly Jones, and Jennah Duvall (Jon), as well as his beloved great-grandchildren: Connor, Luke, Norah, Macie, Blakely, Bonnie, Trevor, and Jonny Duvall. To them, he was not just a grandparent; he was their biggest cheerleader, a source of wisdom, and an embodiment of unconditional love.

Tom's family will cherish the sweet memories and laughter shared over the years, holding each moment dearly in their hearts. His humor, warmth, and unique spirit will undoubtedly be missed but forever remembered.

A celebration of Tom's life will be held in the near future, where family and friends will gather to honor him and share stories that bring smiles, laughter, and perhaps a few happy tears. The details of the service will be shared shortly, but for now, it's important to remember the profound impact Tom had on everyone around him. Tom, you lived a full life, and you will be sorely missed but never forgotten. Here's to a life well-lived, and to the memories that will live on in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, dear friend.

Thomas was preceded in death by: William Wood, Vera Wood, Ron Wood, William Wood.
