So sorry for Thurman's passing. I've known Thurman for many years after meeting in school transportation. We worked together in NCPTA as well as helping one another in TIMS. I became transportation director a couple of years after he retired, but he had big shoes to fill. He loved his family and school transportation. He will be missed. Praying for your family.

I am so sorry to hear about Thurman. We were raised up together in Rocky Point, and our families spent a lot of time together during our boyhood years. I have many good memories of times on the N.E. Cape Fear, pick-up baseball games at the old Rocky Point school, playing on the railroad tracks between Casey's Lumber Co. and 'downtown' Rocky Point, his '54 Plymouth and '55 Chevy. He was in Lib and mine's wedding. Our sympathy goes to the family.

My deepest condolences to Maria and the family. Thinking back many years ago when I drove the bus at Rocky Point Elementary and Thurman´s facial expression. It was the last day of school and I was bringing the bus back to the garage in Burgaw...pulled up...opened the doors & water came pouring out the bus. Thurman looked like what in the world shaking his head. What you do Sharon? I said; we washed the bus for you...he laughed and told me I bet...go on ahead. I enjoyed driving the bus for Thurman...always looking out for his drivers.
