It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tim Alvin Christensen. Tim passed away peacefully on October 11th, 2023, at his home in Kanab, UT.
Tim was married to the love of his life, Fayann Worthen, on March 22, 1956. They were blessed with four children, Verd Tim "Chris", Janeé (Randy "Buck") Wagner, formerly Nielsen, Blaine Scott (Andrea) and William "Billy". Grandchildren, Salina Marie (Ron) Jones, Sean Tim Christensen, Shandra Krystal Hansen, Kira Naomi (Corey) Shryder. Proud great grandfather, to Haela (Sean), Tynan, Mason, Dominick, Annika, Abel, Alyssa (Shandra). Kalani Faye, Faythann, (Kira) and Tommy, Ronny, Timmy (Salina).
He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Ruth Christensen, his father-in-law and mother in-law Verd and Faye Worthen, his son-in-law Troy Nielsen and his oldest son Verd "Chris".
Tim served in the US Airforce from 1953 to 1956 and was a Korean War veteran. Throughout his work life, Tim enjoyed working as a diesel mechanic and a truck driver traveling the nation. An avid hunter, Tim spent many hunting seasons with his family and friends. The hunt was more about spending time with his loved ones close to nature. Early in life, our father learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in his children and all those around him. He was a man of strong faith, and he taught us the importance of family, hard work and doing the right thing.
Our father was a quiet, gentle man who gave back to his community by running the Kane County Care-and-Share Foodbank for 10 years starting in 2001. He also drove school buses for Kanab for over 10 years.
Tim will be cremated as per his wishes. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday November 25th, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Kanab first ward young women's room. Please RSVP by emailing Fayann Christensen at [email protected], if you wish to celebrate his life with us.
Father, you are now at peace, you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you very much and will miss you. Rest in peace.
