Timothy M. Cannon, 77, of Fayetteville, passed away on January 18, 2025 peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on February 24, 1947, in Cumberland Co., NC to the late Nathan Joy Cannon, Sr. and Sallie Adelaide Wallace. Also preceding him in death was his sisters, Juanita Huff, Gwendolyn Covas, Brenda Bunce, and Marie Bundy; and brother, Nathan Joy Cannon, Jr.
Timothy served in The United States Navy from 1965-1971. When he left the Navy, Timothy found himself working in heating and air conditioning. Later in life, He ended with retiring from the postal service after 27 years. Timothy loved working in the yard and devoted his time to landscaping. His other hobbies included fishing, building model planes, and woodworking. He especially enjoyed his Tuesday morning prayer group at Zorba’s with his fellow Massey Hill High School Pirates and time spent on Sunday's with his great friend Sam. Timothy enjoyed spending quality time with his family as much as he could. Timothy was a very compassionate person as well as a caregiver to all. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Left to cherish Timothy’s memory is his wife and best friend of 47 years, Beverly Cannon; 2 sons, Timothy Mark Cannon and Michael Redfearn; 1 daughter, Alice Mills; 2 sisters, Patricia Demore and Mary Heglar; 7 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service is scheduled for 12pm, January 24, 2025, at Praise Fellowship Church of God, located at 514 Adams Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301. The family will receive friends from 11am-12pm.
Services are entrusted to Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.
