Timothy Cyril Cole, 74, of
Martinsville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. He was born on January 10, 1951, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late James Philip and Onarga Avis (Leathers) Cole.
Tim spent most of his life in Pittsboro, Indiana, before moving to Martinsville in 2009. A 1969 graduate of Pittsboro High School, he went on to earn an associate degree in electrical engineering from ITT Technical Institute. He devoted more than 20 years of his career to Deluxe Checks in Indianapolis before joining Endangered Species as a machine maintenance engineer, where he worked faithfully until his retirement in 2013.
A member of Gasburg Baptist Church in Mooresville, Tim was a man of few but meaningful words witty, insightful, and deeply respected. Practical and headstrong, he approached life with quiet confidence and skill. A self-taught craftsman, Tim poured his skills and heart into building the home where he raised his family working alongside relatives and also helped to build a home for his parents.
Tim had many passions, including baseball especially cheering on the New York Yankees. He enjoyed collecting stamps, coins, Santa Claus memorabilia, and an impressive 55-year collection of National Geographic magazines. He also had a fondness for automobiles and movies, interests he happily shared with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Ferris-Cole of Martinsville, whom he married on January 7, 2009; three sons, Tim Cole II of Nineveh, IN, Nathanael "Buddy" (Samantha) Cole of Covington, IN, Jacob (Becky) Cole of Butte, MT; three daughters, Melanie Vasko of Greensburg, IN, Lindsay (Matt) Tschudy of Whiteland, IN, and Andee (Paul) McCord of Avon, IN; brother, Mark (Robyn) Cole of Brownsburg, IN; two sisters, Mary Weaver of Brownsburg, IN, and Deanna (Shorty) May of Bowling Green, KY; eleven beloved grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Philip Cole.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville. A service celebrating Tim's life and legacy will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by burial in New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
