In Loving Memory of Tim Deir
We gather not to mourn but to celebrate the extraordinary life of Timothy Costa Deir, a man who was not just the life of the party but often the reason for the party itself. Born on May 30, 1961, in Canandaigua, New York to the late Costa Salim Deir and Ruth Nell Purdy Deir; at the age of 62, Tim departed from this world unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 in his home in Moore, South Carolina, leaving behind a trail of laughter, love, and the faint echo of his favorite songs.
Tim never met a stranger; he only met friends he hadn't yet made laugh. His heart was as big as his personality, and he loved nothing more than a good dad joke, a warm hug, and the chance to take a selfie with you. He always had a steady flow of people in his house, especially for Tim’s Tasty Tuesdays. He always made everyone feel included, loved, and important. His dedication and warmth towards people left a lasting impact on all those he encountered. Tim also had an impressive cigar collection, even starting his own Finer Things Club.
He was a man of faith, carrying the love for his family and the Lord in his heart like a badge of honor. His prayers were often filled with thanks for his blessings and requests for the strength to pull off his next harmless joke.
His legacy is not just in the smiles he created but in the love he spread. Tim was a compassionate, loving father, grandfather, and friend who found joy in the company of others.
He is survived by a devoted family including his four children: Costa Deir (Karen), Miriam Opara (Brian Mansouri), Jacinda Morrissey (Daniel), and Alex Deir (Kaitlin). His memory will also be cherished by his nine grandchildren: Theodore, Josephine, Sophia, Oliver, Olivia, Sophia, Memphis, Amelia, and Rosalie.
In addition to his immediate family, Timothy leaves behind his brothers Salim Deir (Birgit), John Deir (Anita), sister Alexa Schneider (Mush), Eleanor Shoup - mother of his children and friend - as well as a large extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Throughout his life, Timothy Costa Deir touched the hearts of many with his kind spirit and genuine demeanor. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we say goodbye, let's remember Tim by living as he did - with full hearts, open arms, and the courage to act the age you feel, not what you are.
In lieu of flowers…the family gratefully accepts donations to help defray funeral and after death care costs. Donations may be made via Venmo @DeirFamily on behalf of the deceased. A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm, Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Elim Bible Institute Tabernacle, Lima, New York.
Rest in peace, Dad. You may have left the party a bit early, but the memories you've created will dance on forever in our hearts. It's been a pressure - I mean PLEASURE knowing you.
Oh yeah, one more thing, have a fantastic day!
