Timothy was the beloved husband of Sally Helms; the cherished father of Matthew (Jeanette) Helms, Ryan (Alicia) Helms, Brittany (Andrew) Smith, and Taylor (Cody) Cagwin; the proud grandfather of Rose, Caleb, Cohen, and Colton Helms, Avery, Rilyn, and Kinsler Helms, Finn and Eva Smith, and Addison and Nora Cagwin; and the dear brother of Corrine Stewart and Nancy (Brian) Harrell. Timothy was preceded in death by his parents Norvel and June, his sister Luanne Davison, and his brother-in-law Ralph Stewart.
Tim wholeheartedly loved spending time with his family and enjoyed everything having to do with baseball and building. For many years he was the assistant coach for varsity baseball at Southfield Christian School, where his children attended. Tim and Sally could always be found at Comerica Park for Tigers baseball games, which was their favorite family pastime. For over 25 years he ran his own construction company, Able Building, and enjoyed using his craftsmanship to serve others. Despite being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease later in life, he still remained active, taking up boxing, building custom treasures for friends and family, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events for many years.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, 2125 12 Mile Road, Berkley, Michigan 48072, on Friday, April 1, beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Timothy's honor to the:
