Timothy Holian

Timothy J. Holian, 70, of Newtown left us on January 29th. He fought a courageous battle with cancer for over two decades. Tim was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Holian, and his sister Sarah Conley. He leaves behind his fiancé, Sara Frampton and their beloved pugs Watson & Wiggins.
Tim spoke fondly of his alma maters Cranwell, St Lawrence University, and John Marshall Law School. Tim
was a well-respected lawyer in Newtown as was his father before him. His legal career began at Goldstein and Peck, in Bridgeport, before he returned to Newtown and took over his father's law practice. He served many residents of Newtown and surrounding towns. Tim loved his town and served to make it better in various capacities. He served on the Conservation Commission, was elected to the Legislative Council for a decade, was vice chair for his last four years. Tim served on the Ambulance Board for many years, including the time when the new ambulance garage became a reality, provided our volunteer fire departments with legal assistance over the years. Tim was a corporator of Newtown Savings Bank for over 30 years. Most of all, Tim treated people with kindness and respect; he was always willing to help.
Tim loved traveling, especially to Boston to catch a game, or to enjoy the city. Tim treasured his time being outdoors skiing, riding his bike, golfing, going for driving, walking around, or going to the shore. Tim enjoyed getting together with friends to share a meal. Tim enjoyed life.
Tim and Sara traveled to NYC for the past 15 years to work with the doctors at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to fight his cancer. He even participated in clinical trials to help himself, and to help other's chances of survival. Tim was a very private man, many did not know of his fight.
